Our meeting this week was changed at the last minute, i.e. Late Saturday night, so not any time to call members. As we were meeting at the same place and it was the same land owner it wasn’t too bad. Apologies to those who didn’t come!
It was a lovely day despite the weather forecast saying otherwise until the very last minute when the rain did start but all members apart from Joyce, Gill and Ken had departed. Lots of bits were found including a little ‘hoard’ of 3 hop tokens by Andrew. I thought there should have been more as it was a hop field we were in. Lots of coins were found and you had to be very unlucky to come away with less than about 5 each. Joyce found an item, pictured , which is a bit of a mystery as to what it is. If anyone has any ideas perhaps they can get in touch and let her know.
It is 4 1/2 inches long.
Several of us went along to Blindley Heath for our exhibition but unfortunately due to the weather had to abandon it. Terry and Ron did manage to get into the field but had an awful job getting out again and from what I can understand had to be towed out! David, Ken and I were better off as we didn’t make it into the field, we were waiting in a queue to actually get into the gate. We did do a few new displays 2 of them are pictured in new cases made by Reg. One showing off my Pin Head returned by the British Museum at last.
