Pierre sent me the following account and pictures of his successful recovery of a gold ring.
‘Visited family tonight to drop off present and card, to be asked to do some metal detecting, I said yes. Was told about the loss of an England three lions ring, lost in the bush five years ago. So I said my machine wouldn’t be able to work were it was lost, but I can use my pin-pointer to see if it could be found. After a quick visit to my van I started sweeping my pin-pointer under the bush, a few nails and cable nails at first, so I moved round the back of the bush to get deeper into the middle, I got a strong and fast beeping straight away about 2/3 inches off the ground, so I left it were it was and opened the bush about a foot off the ground and swept the item out. A successful recovery…He was over the moon and wanted to kiss me . He told me how it fell off his finger and bounced under the car and into the bush.
They spent weeks searching and cutting the bush with no luck. It was his dads ring and he was very upset to lose it. Now he will be re-united with it in the morning after five years. . In total it was about three minutes when this came out.’
Well done Pierre!
