A beautiful sunny day with just a few clouds in the afternoon, perfect conditions for metal detecting.
The ground was easy to dig moist but not soggy, thus easy to take a nice shaped plug out. Some of the fields had been spread with slurry, I avoided them!
Thirteen members and one new applicant attended this search.
Best finds of the day were, a 1885 silver three pence piece, a very large crotal bell, unfortunately not complete, a military cape badge in perfect condition complete with clasp.
As usual, a number of copper coins, shrapnel and second world war bullet and cases were found.
