Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the West Kent Detector Club will take place on Friday 15th March, 2024 at Biggin Hill Squash Club starting at 8pm.
Members are reminded that the Club Constitution requires that any nomination for the post of Club Officer or Committee member should be sent to the Club Secretary at least seven days before the date of the AGM. Should there be insufficient nominations to form a committee, nominations will be accepted from the floor.
Last year the Committee introduced the following changes to the Club Rules and Regulations:
At renewal of membership at the AGM each year from March 2023 members (except Associates) will be required, by a change to the Club Rules and Regulations, to agree to the following:
(i)To attend at least 50% of evening meetings – we will keep a register for members to sign in.
(ii)Enter all finds from club searches (except clearly rubbish/scrap) into the monthly competitions – register of attendees at searches will be kept by the site-co-ordinator or their deputy. Members can bring their finds to the evening meeting following the search.
(iii)Members will be required to volunteer to attend one outreach activity every year such as a display/archaeological support/working party.
Failure to fulfil the above obligations will mean that their membership will not be renewed in 2024 and thereafter.
The club will no longer accept new members unless they have something special to offer to the club such as a site.

Please note: Insurance cards/photo of insurance card/evidence of insurance must be carried to all events. Insurance cards will be checked by the Site Co-ordinator at the search. No insurance evidence, no search.
You are reminded that your club subscription will fall due at the AGM and you will have 28 days from that date to renew you membership.
The committee have decided that the club membership fees for 2024-25 will be:
Full member £20
Associate member £10
Junior member £10
Family membership first member £20 second and subsequent member appropriate fee less 20%
